The Open 2025 Accommodation
Our lovely home is a 3 bedroom cottage sitting in a secluded countryside area, surrounded by trees and on rolling hills between the villages of Bellaghy (Séamus Heaney Country) and Portglenone, with it's marina on the River Bann which flows all the way to the north coast.
It is only a 40 minute drive from Portrush, a 30 minute drive from Belfast International Airport and a 30 minute drive to Coleraine (from where you can get a shuttlebus to the event) or 25 minutes to Ballymoney train station (with rail links to Portrush) if you wish to avoid traffic.
The local golf courses of Kilrea, Mayola and Ronan Valley are all within a 15 minute drive or less and there are a dozen excellent restaurants in Bellaghy, Portglenone, Castledawson and Magherafelt.
Although the cottage has a traditional finish on the outside, it has a very modern finish on the inside. The kitchen has a double full-length American fridge and freezer, dishwasher, double oven/grill with 5 gas hobs, microwave, toaster, coffee machine with bean grinder and galette maker.
We have 3 double bedrooms, one with a super king-sized bed. With an extra double sofa bed, two toilets, two showers and one bath, there is space to accommodate up to 8 adults. Unlimited broadband is available throughout the house and there are 2 smart TV's.
The well insulated cottage can easily be heated up by a large multi-fuelled stove with a back boiler or by OFCH.
A large wood-fired pizza oven set within a pergola offering panoramic views of the area, and several other outdoor patio and bistro areas with firepits are available to use (with a smart TV to watch repeats of the days golfing events). A full-sized pool table and a darts board are also available to use in our outdoor spaces.
We also offer local hiking, history and canoe trials as well as indoor and outdoor art and Irish language lessons for those interested in getting a break from the golf.
