Welcome to our contemporary, luxurious and spacious 4 bedroom (3 bathroom) harbourside duplex apartment, situated in the fishing village of Annalong (8 miles from Newcastle), enjoying one of the most picturesque locations on the Co. Down coast.
Amgen Irish Open Accommodation - Whether you are sitting outside on one of the balconies, or are in the apartment itself, the views from this relaxing haven are simply breathtaking. Waken up to the sunrise over the Irish Sea, listen to the Annalong river flowing by, watch the ebb and flow of the everchanging tides (or crashing waves), take in the reflective shades of the water, enjoy the colourful fishing boats as they come and go (less than a stone’s throw away), and take time to follow the activity in Annalong’s working harbour as the daily catches are landed. All of this as well as panoramic views of Slieve Binnian and the Mourne mountains.
Why not visit the adjacent Cornmill, or take a walk along the Annalong coastal path. Maybe just sit on the harbour wall and enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness it brings. The local shops, restaurants/bar etc are all within easy walking distance. If you want to go hiking in the Mournes, the foothills are only a few minutes drive away. The fishing town of Kilkeel is also only a short drive away, with Tollymore Forest Park and Castlewellan Forest Park (and its maze) about 12 miles away. Newcastle is a busy seaside town with many independent traders and cafes and restaurants.
After a day at the Amgen Irish Open at Royal County Down Golf Club, our apartment offers you relaxation and comfort away from the hustle and bustle, in tastefully decorated and bespoke accommodation. The spacious and relaxing sitting/dining/kitchen area (which opens out onto two balconies) is the hub of this self-contained duplex apartment. There are also two good-sized bedrooms (each with a very comfortable king-size bed), a bathroom and a storage room on the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor, there are two spacious and very comfortable master bedrooms (one with a super-king size bed and one with a king size bed), each with their own ensuite.
The apartment is strictly non-smoking.
Bed-linen, towels and toiletries are provided for your use and the kitchen cupboards are well-stocked with all the basic requirements. The kitchen is fully equipped including a full size fridge and freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, warming drawer, air fryers, quooker tap and Nespresso machine. There is car parking (including an EV Charging Point) as well as fast wifi, a desk and printer and a ‘smart tv’. Should you wish, we can also offer housekeeping services including breakfast. If you wish to stay for a longer period (before or after the week of the Irish Open), this can be negotiated at a discounted rate. We are happy to arrange transfers, including from and to the airport. Helicopter transfers, with nearby set down can also be arranged, subject to availability. The public bus stop with regular direct service to Newcastle is a 2 minute walk away
Belfast International Airport and Belfast City (George Best) Airport are (by car) about 1 hour 15 minutes and 1 hour away respectively. Dublin Airport is about 1 hour 45 minutes away.
As well as Royal County Down Golf Club (9 miles), other golf courses within a 45 minute drive include Kilkeel, Warrenpoint, Ardglass, Saint Patrick’s, Bright, Spa, Mahee and Rockmount Golf Clubs. Or if you fancy booking a round at Royal Portrush Golf Club (the host of ‘The Open’ in 2025) it is about 2 hours away by car.
We will also be available throughout the week to help you with any issues and can offer transport during the week
