The Old Rectory
The Old Rectory is a Georgian, grade two listed house standing in 28 acres of ground with ample parking for cars and coaches,helicopters also able to land. The properties are covered by red care.
The Duke of Beaufort's fourth son William Somerset lived here in the 1800's as he was the rector of Woolaston church at the time, and carried out many alterations.
The house overlooks the river severn and is only 4 miles from the M48 bridge junction.We are recommended in Alistair Sawdays special places to stay, and also the welsh tourist board have graded the accommodation to a four star standard country house. The Old rectory is 13 miles from the Celtic manor, 9 of these being motorway (M48/M4).
The Marriott San Pier golf club is 9 miles away and Forest Hills golf club 11 Miles away.
The main house accommodation consists of:
- Master bed room with 4 poster bed, has separate dressing room and en-suite. 'The Green room'.
- William Somerset bedroom with en-suite and choice of either one 6 ft bed or two 3 ft's. 'Red room'.
- Large double bedroom with 4 poster and en-suite. 'Pink Flowers', if needed a 3ft bed can be added.
- Medium sized double room with own bathroom across landing. 'Dark red room'.
- Double room with 5 ft 4 poster and en-suite. New drapes being made for four poster.
- Double room with en-suite which can be pulled to two single beds. 'Aqua room'.
- All of the bedrooms listed above are equipped with televisions.
- 2 Lounge's with a television in each, Library, Large Dining room, can sit twenty four people and also a Kitchen with breakfast area seating 8 people which can also be used by guests if needed.
- The house can accommodate twelve people, with two to a room, although if needed we can accommodate fourteen people.
The house and stable cottage across a tudor court yard can accommodate for eight people with ensuites, it also has a open plan kitchen, family room and dining room. Which have all been decorated by the interior designer who owns the accommodation.
English and continental breakfast's can be served including also home made muesli, jams, breads and fresh juices, home made fresh fruit salads served in the large William Somerset dining room. All tastes can be catered for by prior notice. Evening meal can be catered for if pre booked before the event and if over ten people. The evening meal can be catered for by a professional chef if this is required it must be pre booked before the event.
The Old Rectory offers a range of laundry services, which include washing and ironing which are carried out on the premises. We also offer a chamber maid service, which include bed making.
Adjacent to the house is the Grooms quarters across a cobbled Tudor courtyard. A four bedroom cottage all with en-suite, decorated in similar style to the house, see pictures below. There is also a lounge and kitchen.
Airport collection service is available at an extra charge which shall vary according to which airport.
The price for staying at the old rectory is £2500 per person.
