Ryder Cup 2010 Accommodation Package
Dewsall Court is a much loved family home and is rich in history. It is very secluded, at the end of a country lane, and yet is only six miles south of Hereford city. It is 40 minutes drive from Celtic Manor or, if preferred, a helicopter can land in the grounds. The listed property is set behind electric gates and has a red care security system. The grounds consist of 10 acres of beautiful gardens rich in wildlife and an ancient little church. Dewsall has far reaching views to the Black Mountains and is surrounded by 1000 acres of Duchy of Cornwall land, with open bridleways throughout meaning you can walk for many hours straight from the front door. We have a fantastic open fronted barn which can be used for BBQs, parties and events. The house is furnished with beautiful antiques and paintings and yet despite seeming rather grand from the outside, it has a very laidback and relaxed atmosphere. Dewsall Court can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests.
On the ground floor there is:
- A large flag-stone dining kitchen with open fire and 4 oven aga.
- A very spacious conservatory which is used as a lovely dining area that overlooks the formal garden.
- A wonderful room with stunning views and open fire which can be used for meetings or as an extra dining room with a large round antique oak table which seats 14.
- An oak panelled room with open fire which is used as a media room/study.
- A grand sitting hall which has comfy sofas and a huge open fire.
On the first floor there is:
- A billiard/snooker room with full size antique table.
- The master bedroom suite with emperor sized bed, bathroom (which includes an enormous antique stone bath and separate walk in shower) and its own sitting room (which can be converted into a further bedroom if required.)
- A super king room with far reaching views to Hay Bluff and excellent bathroom.
- A king size room with views across the court towards the church and with its own bathroom.
On the second floor there is:
- A large high ceiling, heavily beamed, King size bedroom with bathroom (which has an amazing mural on all four walls). We can put a further single bed in this room if required.
- A further high ceiling, heavily beamed, super king room containing the old granary winch and views over the court and church, with its own bathroom.
- A four poster bedroom (super king size) with its own feature bathroom.
- A king size room with lovely views towards the church and its own bathroom.
- A large bedroom with its own bathroom which can either be a super king bed and a single bed, or three single beds. In the house, therefore, we can accommodate a maximum of 20 people.
The newly converted Cottage Barn comprises of:
- Two large super king bedrooms with their own lovely bathrooms, overlooking the paddock. These rooms could be made into twins, and have wheel chair access.
- A high ceiling, heavily beamed studio which can be used as a meeting space/yoga/workshop etc. The barn can accommodate a maximum of 4 people – very comfortably!
Dewsall is available for either serviced or unserviced exclusive use. This means that we can be on hand or entirely invisible or anything in between - as you desire. It is possible for us to arrange catering, transfers to and from the airport and/or event, recreational activities such as guided walks and golf, or on site yoga and massage, for example. We would love to discuss with you, in advance of your stay, what level of service you need.
Points of interest:
- There are excellent golf courses within easy reach of the property, one of which is only 5-10 minutes drive away, and another which is the highest golf course in England!
- The historical city of Hereford which has a beautiful Cathedral housing the famous Unesco Listed Mappa Mundi.
- The picturesque town of Hay on Wye which holds the famous literary festival and is the second hand bookshop capital of the world!
Price
Unserviced exclusive use of Dewsall Court = £2000 per person for 7 days, £2500 for 10 days, with a minimum of 10 guests.
Serviced exclusive use of Dewsall Court is as above, plus whatever level or service you require.
At present, the house is undergoing refurbishment which will be finished in June, meaning that we do not have images of the interior of the house until then. However, we can assure you that it will be furnished to a very high standard, with beautiful antiques and lots of style. We will be very happy to send images to you once the refurbishment is complete.
