Cwmshon Cottages, near Swansea
Recently restored to provide luxurious modern facilities, including broadband internet while retaining many original features and comfortably equipped with antique and modern furniture, Cwmshon Cottages are a pair of Victorian miners cottages built in the 1850's. They are idyllically situated beside a tumbling mountain stream on a very quiet side road, on the outskirts of the small valley town of Pontardawe, 8 miles north of Swansea and 5 miles from the Black Mountain National Park, yet only 5 minutes from the M4 and an easy 45 minutes motorway drive from the Celtic Manor Resort. Facilities in Pontardawe include swimming pool, sports centre, Theatre/Arts Centre, shops, restaurants and golf. If you want to extend your stay we can arrange day trips to some of our beautiful Welsh castles; historic National Trust properties; famous gardens or guided walks in the Brecon Beacons/Black Mountains or on the stunning and unspoilt Gower coastline, the UK's first designated area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Accommodation – sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms, 4 bath and shower rooms, 2 kitchens, 2 sitting rooms. The cottages may be booked together or separately, each sleeping 6.
First floor: each cottage has 3 bedrooms (king-size, twin, adult bunks), spacious modern travertine tiled bathroom with bath/shower, towel radiator. We use luxurious Egyptian cotton linen and the highest quality fluffy towels which can be changed daily if required.
Ground floor: each cottage has an oak floored sitting room with woodburner in inglenook fireplace, dining area, laundry room and cloakroom/shower, oak kitchen with French windows to private patio with garden furniture and barbecue,
Facilities: Gas central heating, woodburner, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, TV, DVD, CD, broadband internet. Parking for 3 cars.

Package price
Cwmshon Cottages are available from mid September to mid October and at other times of the year ( at reduced cost). Rental is £4,000 per week per cottage and includes-
- daily transport to and from Celtic Manor
- continental or full Welsh breakfast
- home cooked evening meal with wine
- woodburners lit daily
- housekeeping and laundry daily
At additional cost excursions to places of interest eg. castles of Wales tour; Bath Roman spa town; Big Pit Mining Museum; St Fagans Welsh Folk Museum; shopping in Cardiff, Wales capital city; cycling National Cycle Routes; mountain biking; horse riding. We can arrange an itinerary to suit your interests.
Keys only price - £1000 per week per cottage
A warm welcome
We assure you of a warm welcome and will be on call for help and advice for the duration of your stay. Fiona is a keen cook, gardener and beekeeper. Andrew is a traditional craftsman working with stone. We have lived in Pontardawe for 20 years and have an intimate knowledge of the local area and the hidden treasures of South Wales.
Terms
A non-refundable deposit of £1000 per cottage is required upon booking and the balance is payable by 1st September 2010.
