Caer Llan is a large country house set in 25 acres of garden, field and woodland. The property is isolated in fabulous open countryside and boasts unquestionably stunning views over the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Vale of Usk. The Celtic Manor Resort is located 19 miles away from Caer Llan and can be reached by car in 20 minutes. The A449 dual carriageway which goes directly to the Celtic Manor is only 3 miles away. In fact a small hill completely shields Caer Llan from the noise of this busy main road. The property has an area suitable for helicopter landing and take off whilst other transportation, airport collections, taxi services, coach hire etc can all be arranged upon request.
Caer Llan is a family owned and run business and has been established as a guest house since 1969. We have just celebrated our 40 years in business so guests can be assured of a discrete and yet highly professional level of service from the owners and their small team of staff. The house is currently rated with a four star group accommodation grading by the Visit Wales tourist association. Caer Llan and its facilities are available only for exclusive hire by a company, group, individual, society or organisation. Unfortunately, we do not accept individual room bookings.
Accommodation
There are 15 guest bedrooms at Caer Llan all with recently refurbished en-suite bathrooms. Two of the rooms feature stunning balconies with panoramic far reaching views over the valley. Seven of the rooms are located in the award winning “berm house”. This is an ultra low energy extension which was recognised in 1995 as being the lowest energy building in Europe. The 15 rooms comprise of one single room and 14 super king or twin rooms, all equipped with luxuriously comfortable beds. The rooms are extremely versatile and exceptionally spacious and so can also sleep extra guests if needed: the house can actually accommodate up to 50 guests if people are prepared to share rooms! The house will of course be set up to your requirements before you arrive.
Other guest areas and facilities
The inside of the main house also offers large open plan areas which can be furnished to suit. Natural light streams into much of the ground floor highlighting the beauty of the feature arches, oak floors and welsh slate. In addition, an open log fire provides a warming homely feel. You can catch up on the days play either on the LCD television in the bar or in the cinema room with big screen and surround sound. The main house also has Wifi internet access.
Outside, a labyrinth of paths and steps connect with lawns and terraces to form the mature gardens which contain many unusual trees and shrubs. A large terrace is located at the front of the house which provides the perfect spot to marvel at the far reaching panoramic views of the distant Welsh mountains. There is an 8 acre SSSI wood with circular walk for those fancying a stroll or a selection of garden games for the young at heart, including giant chess, giant jenga and croquet. Parking is available for up to 30 cars or a coach.
Meals & Refreshment
Caer Llan has a highly talented in house chef who can provide for all of your catering needs. Menus and meal times can be arranged to suit, whilst guests can also be assured of delicious, freshly prepared dishes crafted with quality local ingredients. Many of the fresh vegetables for instance are handpicked from the garden at Caer Llan earlier in the day.
There is a fully licensed drinks and snacks bar available to guests 24 hours per day. It is well stocked with a good selection of draught products, real ale, wines and spirits, as well as non alcoholic refreshments and confectionary. A bar person is present during evenings and other times when required.
Caer Llan can source any specific wine, champagne or other drinks that you may request during your stay. You may even wish to enjoy a gin and tonic and barbeque on the terrace: the perfect location to watch the stunning sunsets which are at their best in the autumn.

Caer Llan can provide laundry and chambermaid services.
Evening entertainment can also be arranged, such as a pianist or live band.
Local Golf Facilities
There are over ten quality 18-hole golf courses within 20 miles of Caer Llan. The owners can provide knowledgeable advice about these courses and if desired, assist in planning your own game of golf.
